About

Hall’s Garage has been situated at the crossroads in Morton near Bourne since 1948. The business was started by Charlie Hall, Steve, the youngest of five brothers and two sisters, virtually grew up in the workshop. The MG connection started back in 1975 when Steve bought his first MGB GT and was introduced to the MG Car Club by a friend who raced a MG TC. When members of the Club found out that he was interested in MG’s and had a garage, they began to bring their cars to sort out problems or carry out engine modifications.

Hall’s Garage offers a full range of restoration services. All types of work are undertaken, from mild sympathetic tidy up to a full not and bolt rebuild to show standard. Few restorers can offer all the services which are available in-house at Hall’s. Some of our restored cars have won Condition Class and Concours Awards. The high standard of work has meant that Hall’s Garage has gained much recognition, and out cars have been exported to places such as Jersey, Spain, Italy and even Japan.

We also undertake non-standard modifications - as an example, we were the first to convert MGB GT shell to MGC specification, which meant significant structural work. Under the catchphrase ‘Live Your Dream’ we have built the ‘perfect car’ to customers’ own specification. Please call or email for further details or to discuss your potential project.

For those motor sport enthusiasts old enough to remember, the market town of Bourne will always be linked with the BRM Grand Prix team of the early sixties. It is no surprise therefore that engineering firms and garages such as Hall’s Garage became involved with the Formula One company. In Graham Hill’s Championship winning year, Hall’s Garage actually worked on the cylinder heads and light machine work for BRM. They cross-etch honed their cylinder blocks right up to BRM’s demise in the early seventies.

Hall’s has produced many MG race cars, some of which have won the MGCC MCV8 Championship in Standard, Modified and V8 Classes. Race engines built by Hall’s have also powered winning cars in the MGCC Metro Championship - the championship founded by Steve Hall himself.

Although our forte is MG work, we also undertake work on most thoroughbred and classic cars, including Healey 100/4 - 3000, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley, Rochdale, Riley and the like. As a village garage we also work on the most modern cars. This has led to us becoming renowned for carrying out head gasket and cambelt replacements for out own clients and for other garages too.
